Advertiser Banner Problems Edit Delete Reply with quote Quote
First Post Posted on: 02-10-08 01:16 AM next post first post
I have set up some advertiser banners and everything works great until I go into the secure mode of the program.(IE, user acccounts) and then everytime I go to any page in the secure mode, I keep getting "This page contains both secure and nonsecure items, Do you want to display the nonsecure items"?

I think this has to do with the banner images being in a non secure folder. I have asked support about this but have not gotten much help. Can anyone else come up with a solution.

Thanks,

I am not sure why the sarcasm... It is not as simple as you indicate. When you set up a banner campaign there is only one place to put the URL for the banner image. If you put just the HTTP and when your program goes into secure mode, as it is suppose to with a SSL Cert for the secure info of an account user, then you get the message as described. As long as you are in the secure mode, every link and page you try to go to will display the message. This is because the banner image is NOT stored in any kind of secure folder.

Now if I change the banner image path and include the HTTPS, then I get the message on all nonsecure pages. What I am trying to figure out is if there has to be a way to get this to stop. I really do not care if the banners even show up in the user account section. As an example, the logo image works just fine for some reason. I have even tried to store the banner images in the same folder as the logo image... Still no luck.

Now if you really know what the problem and solution is, why don’t you just help out a fellow member instead of coming off nasty?

I actually answered this in the email, but it is here again.

You should create a new banner zone and put the class for it in your ssl templaes which in this case the accmgr* or so for example 468x60_SSL_TOP the zone class should be :

<!--CLASS::Banner::468x60_SSL_TOP-->

in general the zone class is:

<!--CLASS::Banner:Zone_Name-->

then create the campaigns and place the images on an SSL folder and link your banners to it.

I guess the question I am having with this solution is are you telling me to go into my admin section under the banner advertising section and then go to zone manager and create a new zone?

I am not sure what you mean by putting the class for it in your ssl template which is accmgr*. where is this suppose to be located within the program?

I am sorry to be such a pain, I am just trying to find out where I am suppose to do all this programing and configuration.

Thanks,

There is no programmin in all what I said before. You mean customization which you should know some html about it.

In your general classes, you will find "Top_Area_SSL" class which should contain a banner class:

<!--CLASS::Banner:Top_468-->

change this to:

<!--CLASS::Banner:Top_468_SSL-->

Now you go to your banner admin and create this zone:

Top_468_SSL

Then create a campaign and click on its "config" and select the zone Top_468_SSL from the zones drop menu.

If you can not do this then you can order 2 hours custom work and we do it in full for you.
