I uploaded a test auction in version 6.6 and then tried deleting one of the two images I had also uploaded. Althought the image is now gone, the image place holder still shows with a red X through it. Any ideas on this one?

You mean you installed the free version or the none free Perl version.? Because the free version is over 2 years old and have lots of bugs.

I am using the version I downloaded ( V6.6 ) from the Mewsoft site. This I presume is the upgraded version to the one I had already purchased?

You should install the full version not upgrade to any older versions anyway. Please post the url to an item you are talking about.

I deleted the original item and tried to repeat the error with a new item but the problem has mysteriously vanished. The new item correctly deleted the image.
