I was wondering if within your auction script if there is code to tell the mySQL database on a server to close once a session is done. The reason why I ask is because I was having database connection problems with my hosting company and when I called them they said some other member had 200 MySQL databases open.
I asked them since I was running a auction website, would I run into this problem. They said as long as my software would automatically close database connections after each use then it will not happen.
This is automatically done in all our products. And I think any software should do this unless some other users scripts has some error or can not complete the actions and terminate without cleaninng.
