How to Upgrade to Searchawy 2006 V 8.00

Before you do anything, backup you current mysql dataabse from the admin center -> database & sql Manager, then click on Backup SQL Database Into Text Files. 1)-Download the zip file searchawy.zip from our site "My Account" using your license number. *)-Unzip and Do a Full Fresh New Installation Under a DIFFERENT directory, do not over write your existing installation of the product. Say if you have older version installed under cgi-bin/search or cgi-bin/dir sub directories, then install this new version under a new sub directory say cgi-bin/dirx and html/dirsx, later you can rename these to anything else you want. *)-Complete the installation and configuration of the program normal until you can run your new admin center *)-in the new installation, click on Configuration, enter the mysql database already used on the old version that you want to import its contents. *)-Now, there is an upgrade script comes currently in the same searchawy.zip file called upgrade800.cgi , change its permissions and make it executable and try to access it from your browser. you need to call this cript only one time from the browser it will do all the creation of teh new sql tables, alter the current sql tables for the new version, update all the sql info, etc. Do not run this script more than one time. If you can not find the upgrade script in the .zip file, download it from our site: http://www.mewsoft.com/download/upgrade800.cgi *)-DELETE the update script update800.cgi immediately after you finish the above steps or someone will corrupt your database. *)-By now you should have all your database modified for the new version and you are ready to rock Please note, some new templates added, some renamed, some modified, the same for the language files, so you have to make the customizations manually if you have done in older versions and want to use it with this one.
