Extract Web Page
Hi,
I have got these Perl modules installed:
HTML::LinkExtor
HTML::SimpleLinkExtor
The Spider Web Pages works fine for any URL inserted manually, but the (Extract Web Page Links) is not working, when click on (Extract Now) nothing happened..
Any idea how to get that works...

Hello bud,

I know you are an old customer for searchawy , so Iam sure it was working for you before but it may be for some

reason you did an upgrade in wrong file formate or else, anyway, to test, ifyou just enter

say for example in the "Extract web page links" box :

mewsoft.com

then it should grab these links in the "Spider web Pages" box:

If it worked like that example, then it is working normal.

If it is not working like that, then something in your installation is wrong, you can upload the latest cgi files

in ascii mode to your server to make sure you have all the files uploaded in the correct ftp mode "ASCII".

Yes I am in love with Searchawy, or the (awy products) ...

The "Extract web page links" was working before that's correct, I remember that long time ago, ... but I was using E-marketing little program with URL extractor, then chuck them in the "Spider web Pages"
I've done the test of mewsoft domain or any web address, still not working...,
The strangest thing is 5 Searchawy/s on different domains, non of them working, when press on extract button nothing happen ...
The HTML::SimpleLinkExtor module is installed on all
I was wondering which cgi files need to be updated and is it on all the 5 domains !?

Just upload the cgi files cgi-bin/dir/*.cgi and *.pm , Please upload these files in ASCII mode.

That's is all enough to get all the cgi files working fine, nothing else can be done.

After spending time debuging your site, the problem in your Perl module HTML::SimpleLinkExtor installation, it

is either corrupted or not installed correctly or forced to be installed without its requirements from other perl modules.

Anyway, I installed a llocal copy of the modules under your searchawy installation under the folder:

cgi-bin/dir/HTML

and your spider worked fine.

You need to copy this folder and its contents to all your other searchawy installations on the other sites

Of course you can askl the hosting company to reinstall this Perl module HTML::SimpleLinkExtor correctly and tell

them to not to force its installation and to install any modules required by it.
