2005 Auction -don't understand |
|
in the latest auction build why is it that all the ongoing auctions are listed in every category? example: everything listed under books is also listed under toys&hobbies - diddo with every category. if this is the way its gonna be then why have any categories at all?
i do hope this is not the way it ends up
i would like to see everything listed under subcat-1a, subcat-1b and so on be listed under its parent catergory cat-1
then everything listed under subcat-2a, subcat-2b and so on be listed under its parent catergory cat-2
i hope you change this Ahmed or i will be forced to find another auction script or not upgrade. :? |

mewsofts demo is listing each auction under all categories so if you placed an auction under antiques it is also listed under toys&hobbies, books, Automobiles etc.. |

I think there is a problem with the Auction 2005 listing of items. No matter what category you click you see all the items from every category or at least that's what it looks like to me.
I think the category structures should be exactly like they are now in 6.?.. If I have a category of Collectibles/Petroleum/Hess/Miniatures and I list a 1998 Mini I don't want to have to look through every listing to find it. I want to be able to narrow my search to Collectibles/Petroleum/Hess/Miniatures and look for it in the Miniature category. I don't want to look in Collectibles and then wade through all the listings to find my 1998 Mini. I don't think it should show up in Petroleum or Hess either.
What is the reason for sub-categories if not to make it easier to find an item your looking for. If I'm looking for my Mini why should it show up in Jewelry or Coins or any of the other categories? Why should it show up anywhere else in the categorie structure other than in Miniatures?
I know .... |

I would like to see the Featured Auctions for each category be shown instead of the "Sorry No Auctions Found" statement.
The regular basic auctions should not be shown and can still be viewed under the sub-category.
Is this possible Ahmed?
Thank you again, Kit |

The first photo upload is used as a thumb for the auction listing.
Would it be a lot of work to have the first web based photo used as a thumb insted of having the camera icon showing the listing has a photo? |

May be in the future we can have a plugin to download images from web urls and thumbnail them. Of course we can immediately now thumbnail the web urls but we are afraid that someone just posts items with to big images that takes your pages for ever to display and makes your site very slow for surfers. |
