Featured auctions does not display |
|
These are the rules to check in general, again:
1)-Post an auction with a gif file only and see if it works normal 2)-Post an auction with jpg file only, and see if it works normal
3)-If the gif only does not display the featured image, then you need to check your gif2png program, ask your hosting to send you a copy of that file from your server and upload it to your cgi-bin/auction and change its permission to 755 (executable).
4)-Make sure the directories auctions/featured and auctions/featured1 exists and writables.
5)-Also make sure your html directory and URL are set in the admin->configuration

Re: Featured Auctions at Homepage |

I tested using GIF and JPG files separately and neither of them works. And I have checked directory and directory/url, they all exist.
I am requesting the file, gif2png program, from my hosting provider. When I receive it, I will follow your advice. Hopefully it will work. |

If both gif and jpg files does not work, then check your GD perl module, they may be installed a version that does not work with your server libs. |

the HTML editor |
|
Hi,
I use the HTML editor to edit "Terms of Use". It works fine under the editor. The fonts and style are all the same as defaut.
However, when I save the changes and check the webpage, the font and style all go wrong with differnt font and layout.
Is it normal? Is there any way to keep the defaut font and layout by simply modify some wording?
Thanks! |

Hi,
My web hosting provider has followed your advice, http://www.mewsoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=455
However, this problem still exists. My hosting provider responds as follows.
[i:700af1f786]We followed the instructions given by mewsoft and installed GD but still the Featured list item is not showing up. However we tried the GD_Test and found that GD is working fine, we ran the script from the command line here is the out put:
=============================================================================== bash# perl GD_Test.cgi Content-type: text/html
GD Module Version 2.19. Required 2.19 at least<br><br>
GIF Test <br> ----------------<br> File: /home/goodii/public_html/cgi-bin/test.gif <br><br>
Trying to read the Gif graphics file with GD ...<br> I can read Gif file<br> <br> Trying to create new Gif image <br> I can create Gif images <br> <br> Trying to resize Gif image <br> Done resizing.<br> <br> Trying to create Gif output file <br> I can write output JPG images <br> <br><br>
JPG Test <br> ----------------<br> File: /home/goodii/public_html/cgi-bin/test.jpg <br><br>
Trying to read the Jpeg graphics file with GD ...<br> I can read Jpeg file<br> <br> Trying to create new JPG image <br> I can create JPG images <br> <br> Trying to resize JPG image <br> Done resizing. <br> <br> Trying to create JPG output file <br> I can write output JPG images <br> <br><br>
PNG Test <br> ----------------<br> File: /home/goodii/public_html/cgi-bin/test.jpg <br><br>
Trying to read the Png graphics file with GD ...<br> I can not read Png file, aborting Png test: No such file or directory<br> <br><br>
Done...
bash# ==========================================================================================
As you can see it is able to work with jpeg files and is working fine. Please give us the path for the image that is suppose to show up for the Featured items place and we will try to figure out where the problem is. [/i:700af1f786]
Please help how I shall do next. Thanks a lot! |

Ask them to send you a copy of the file gif2png that exist on the server then upload it to your cgi-bin/auction in binary mode or let them just copy it to that directory.
Is the JPG working or not? |

Hi,
My hosting provider follow your instructions and replies as follows. [i:d1df28fae2] we ran the GD_Test.cgi on the server and here is the output http://www.mrmore.com/output.html. The link to the image is not correct as http://www.mrmore.com/auctions/upload/http: does not seem to point anywhere, please correct it in the settings of your webpage.[/i:d1df28fae2]
Please advise what I shall do next. Thanks a lot! |

Re: Featured Auctions at Homepage |

Thanks very much for your test!
Does " restore" mean re-installation? Well, maybe it's the best way to do so. However, would it be possible to keep my current settings for this? By the way, I would clean up every file in my hosting account to make sure everything will go smoothly. As this installation was done by your help, I really don't know how to make it. Would it be possible for you to help one more time?
Thanks in advance! |

NO, if I meant to restore the corrupted file, only the sell template (sell.html) in your templates directory. |

Hi, I don't know why do you think it is your hosting provider. Why? I have the same problem, but the weird thing is that it happened suddenly, after i have changed edititem.html(I allready restore the file from MewSoft site still not working). Another weird thing is that MewSoft Demo has the same problem whatch "Test item memo".... Why did it worked perfectly 3 weeks ago ? What can be done?

Re: Featured Auctions at Homepage |

Ahmed this is strange. When you click on Featured from the home page of your demo site those pictures that show up have a path of:
http://mewsoft.com/nas/featured/1101111080.jpg
Those that show a Red X have a path of:
http://www.mewsoft.com/auctions/upload/http:
Could this have something to do with the Secure Server Paths in the config file.
I noticed when I first set my site up when clicking different functions on the top navigation buttons I sometime got MyLogo and sometimes I got a Red X. When I changed my Secure Server Paths in config to the same thing as my regular cgi-bin and html paths the MyLogo image showed up for all the navigation buttons and I no longer got the Red X. ......... |
