trouble with auto-installer

I'm trying to install auctionawy with the auto-installer and it will only transfer the image files. It doesn't intall the html or pearl files. Anyone ever had this problem? Thanks.

Re: trouble with auto-installer

This means you did not set the correct paths as seen by the FTP program to the installer, use the FTP utility on the installer page to show you your paths as seen by the FTP program. In most cases it may start as the root / or so you just put for example /public_html/cgi-bin/auction for the cgi directory and /public_html/auctions for the html directory.

Re: trouble with auto-installer

At first I thought it worked because the installer tells me that it is transfering files and then says transfer completer. I used another ftp program to look at the files and they are empty. Another thing that is happening is that on the first part of the install program when it is creating files, it saying that every file it needs exists when in fact they don't. Thanks for the help.

Re: trouble with auto-installer

The auto installer is free to use on your own in general, so if you do not have the experiance to use it or having troubles using it, just use your FTP program to install normal. If you get any error during using the installer, the only reason for that is wrong info you entered on the installer page and we can not help because you have to know your server paths.

Re: trouble with auto-installer

As it turned out I knew my paths, it was problems with my dns and name servers at my server. The ftp couldn't actually find the site but went through the motions of loading. Anyway it loaded fine when I figured that out.
