Greatings from Mewsoft, Auctionawy 11.80, 11.60 Upgrade. Search by Zip & Distance Support Released. This new versions supports searching by zip code from the advanced search, you will find 2 new fields: Zip:
Within distance:
Users can search for items/ads within specific zip codes.
Users also can search within specific distance from the zip code for example within 10 Miles. The search Within specific distance requires the zip code with geo database installed for the location/country. Currently we have these separetly databases for USA and Canada only and can be purchased from our order page. This new version also added 4 new functions in the Database & SQL Manager, these are:
These are very good and useful features. This allows you to compress/zip your database files and also allows you to upload and extract compressed/zipped database files. This is very good for very large files/Tables, for example, the Zip code database for Canada is 40MB in text mode as .sql.pm, but compressed is 2.4MB, so it is good for storage and transfer, migrate server, backups etc. Bugs Fixed

Admin ->Setup Wizard, Click on Create SQL Tables After you apply this upgrade, from the user side, the advanced search page will have the 2 new added fields: From the admin side, admin->Database & SQL Manager, you will find the above new 4 links How Does The Search By Zip/Distance Works
=================================== After you apply this upgrade, users can enter any zip code in the "Zip" field on the advanced search page and the software will return all items/ads that have this exact specific Zip (USA)/Postal Code (Canada). This search feature is working in full and does not need a Geo Zip database. The Search Within Distance feature, this feature requires a Zip Geo Database that does not come free with the software, we currently have these database for USA (Zip codes) with Latitudes and Longitudes (40,000+ records)
Canada (Postal codes) with Latitudes and Longitudes (800,000+ records)
After you order any of these, We will send it to you the database file as a zipped sql table GeoData.sql.pm.zip, you upload to your database folder, unzip it using the new feature, then upload this table GeoData and you are done. A special FAQ will be added for this Zip Geo database installations later. Thank you |
