Today we released Classifiedawy 2011 Version 12.9 with new design and features.

This new version does not require cgi-bin folder, we have redesigned the software to use apache server
rewrite module and .htaccess files to run all the software from one folder instead of having one folder over
the cgi-bin and one over the html direcotires.
The new desing will reduce and shorten your site URL's by removing the cgi-bin from all links like this:
Old link:
http://www.mewsoft.com/cgi-bin/classified/classified.cgi
The new link will be:
http://www.mewsoft.com/classified/index.cgi
The new version also have added the auctions titles and categories names to the URL's for search engines
of course after sanitization to help search engine indexing and knowing more about your site contents. Old Links:

The same thing for the categories, the categories names sanitized with the links now, for example:

The Mewsoft Auto Installer on our website has been updated for the new version now and ready for use with it.
classified.cgi File
===========
classified.cgi file has been changed to index.cgi in the new package
.htaccess File Add
=============
The new version uses apache srever .htaccess file in the main product folder to make the security and redirections.
Installation folder ===============
Assume you installed the product under the folder auction on your website for example http://www.mewsoft.com Then the URL's to access the product files will be like this:
http://www.mewsoft.com/classified
http://www.mewsoft.com/classified/admin the admin center
of http://www.mewsoft.com/classified/admin.cgi also for the admin center
the
link http://www.mewsoft.com/classified will redirect all requests to
http://www.mewsoft.com/classified/index.cgi using the .htaccess
automatically.
Admin Configuration
===============
After installation, you will need to set the CGI URL the same as the HTML URL in the admin Configuration.
How to Upgrade to This Version ======================
Please follow these steps very carefully and do not overwrite any file on your site. 1)-Download the latest version auctionawy.zip from our website using your license number.
2-Do
fresh new install under a new folder from your html (public_html or
httpdocs ) using our auto installer or using your FTP software
3)-access
your admin center and set the database info the same as your old
install, the one you are currently using, if you can not remember these info, download the file cgi-bin/classified/data/SysConfig.pm and view it with notepad and search it for these info:
DB_Name or dbname
db_User or dbuser
DB_PASS or dbpass
DB_HOST or dbhost
Now
you should be able to view your new site using your old sql database
you should be able to view all your cats, users, items, etc. 4)-Start carefully copying your templates and language files from your old install to the new install. 5)-Start carefull copying your classifieds/* folder to the new installation You are ready to go with the new version.
