For some god known reason the about me page links have stopped working. I look in the directories where the users justme folders should be and they are present but when i click on a justme link next to anyones username the browser says it cant find the file. It maybe a permissions thing.

Could someone tell me what the permissions should be for the "data" directory and the directories under it??

At present i have set at 777 but still no luck.

What do you mean it works fine for me?? Do you mean you registered at my site and checked the links??

Admin->Configuration:

About Me Data Directory:
About Me HTML Directory:
About Me HTML Directory URL:


setup these 3 values correct and set the permissions for these 2 directories to writables, try 644, 755 and then 777 which is less secure.

These are the only 3 values that conrtol the creation and the display of the About me pages.

These directories are separted from the system paths so you cal relocated the users directories under any directory starting from your server root.

The main idea is how would you like your users about me url to display, for example:

http://www.domain.com/members/totabids

or

http://www.domain.com/me/totabids

or

http://www.domain.com/auction/aboutme/totabids

or if you want

http://www.domain.com/totabids

so you control the users path from your server root.

I have the path set correctly in admin. They were working but now seem not to.

This is how it should link to it

http://www.totalbids.co.uk/public_html/html/auctions/aboutme/totabids

I have the permissions set at 777 for html, auctions and aboutme and aboutme_data.

This is really bugging me now. It just goes to a "cant display page error page"

http://www.totalbids.co.uk/public_html/html/auctions/aboutme/hammer

This should be the link to my about me page but it will not work.

My config in admin is

http://www.totalbids.co.uk/public_html/html/auctions/aboutme

/home/totalbid/public_html/html/auctions/aboutme

/home/totalbid/public_html/html/auctions/aboutme_data


Any further ideas ladies and gents??

All sorted.

The about me link was pointing just to the username within the directory i specified. I edited a couple of files and now it displays fine.

Great as I can see the html URL is notc orrcet:

http://www.totalbids.co.uk/public_html/html/auctions/aboutme/totabids

should be like

http://www.totalbids.co.ukl/auctions/aboutme

only

so i your admin->configuration it should look:

http://www.totalbids.co.ukl/auctions/aboutme
