Auction Listings Question Edit Delete Reply with quote Quote
First Post Posted on: 08-25-08 05:02 PM next post first post
Hi,\ \ I had a testing auction on following url:\ http://www.freedomsearchusa.com/cgi-bin/auction/auction.cgi\ \ You can see a home page featured listing is now closed. My question is a "CLOSED" auction listing is supposed to be removed from home page or wherever it used to be.\ \ It seems this software didn't do that. Any help?\ \ Thank you, Steve

Closed auctions have to be manually processed in Admin, or you need to setup the Autoprocess and use a cron job to process the auctions. There should be something in the Help section regarding processing auctions.

Thank you, wannauseit.\ \ But I tried the manual process closed auction, first it returned "can not open data/logs/AutoProcess.txt, permission denied", I figured it was a permission setting problem, I CHMOD it to 777. Then I gave it a second try. It returned:\ \ Processing Closed Auctions\ \ Total Ended Auctions: 1\ Processing...\ Software error:\ \ Undefined subroutine &main::ParseCustomFieldsView called at /home/freedom/public_html/cgi-bin/auction/ParseItem.pm line 846.\ \ Any idea about this? It seems that this sofware is pretty buggy. Some of my other questions are not answered by the MewSoft support.\ \ Thanks, Steve

I'm still using the old version of the software, so I don't have the same code to look at. It may be something improperly written that needs updating, might not, but some of the other members running the new version would have to test on their sites and see if they have the same problem.\ \ Any one else having the same problem?

I have only closed three auctions manually but had no problems. Got a screen telling me the auctions were being processsed and then the number of auctions that were closed was displayed. I had no errors.
