The demo is not activated in any product download unless you edit the file sysconfig.pm manually and set the variable demo_mode~==~1. Make sure you downloaded the latest version from our site and transfer all the cgi-bin/auction directory in ASCII mode.
It seems you are doing the wrong installation based on your other post. You said you are using netauction_linux.exe which was a free and now very old and discountninued.
By the way, I never told you to set the demo mode to 1, this is what I said:

Since you downloaded the open source version from our site, then you should have no problem installing using FTP program. I recommend you to download it again from our site to get the latest version which just released few minutes, also it maybe corrupted during your download from our server for any reason.
