I am looking for a FAQ/Procedure for backing up and restoring the site.\ \ First for general reasons and Second to move a site from a development server to a production server.\ \ Is it just a matter of backing up and moving the MySQL database?

To move your websites, should be simple enough as follows:

1) in your admin.cgi ->Database & SQL manager -> Backup SQL database to text files. This step will backup your sql database in the directory data/database.

2)-Move the etire directory cgi-bin/auction/* inclduing subdirectories, to the new server or website.

3)-Move the directory public_html/auctions/* to the new server

4)-Edit the file cgi-bin/auction/data/SysConfig.pm, change the CGI_Dir path and CGI_URL and Html_Dir, Html_URL to point to your new website paths.

Then lunch the admin.cgi center on the new server. and you are done.
