Is it possible to have an option on charging for the relist of items?

I know most people probably want to charge each time an item is listed and that's OK but I would prefer to charge only for the first listing and then if the item doesn't sell I would like to have it relist for free.

If this could be made an option it would be nice for new sites that have very little traffic.

It can be done as custom work order only.

OK but I know the few people who signed up on my site have stopped listing because of the charges being applied to re-lists.

Being a new site without traffic most items are not going to sell right away if they sell at all. This is great for the auction owner as he keeps getting the fees but for the user it is very discouraging because they end up paying more in fees that the item is listed for. Guess what they do when the item runs out? They go somewhere else.

I run another auction site and at first tried to charge for re-lists and I could not keep users posting. I changed software at that site that makes re-listing free and now that site after 4 years is showing slow but steady growth.

I can get around that with this software by not charging any fees except final value fees but then later it makes it hard to start adding fees as the place grows (if it grows) , just something for everyone to think about.

The ideal solution is to make your site free 100% until you build some good traffic or just charge for some services like featured homepage or banners etc. Other solutions is to charge final fees only on sold auctions, many solutions you already have. You are talking in $300 custom job if you want.
