My system does'nt seem to read paypal email payments

I have setup my paypal@ address on my paypal account.

I have set a paypal@ address on my server.

I have entered in the billing system paypal@, Username & Password associated with my server mail box.

I have tryed all settings " BEST, PASS & APOP " notting seems to work

Same settings work fine in outlook express, I currently have a payment waitting, I have'nt read this mail on anything yet.

Any Ideas what I should try ?

Wish I could help you with this one I haven't been able to test mine yet. I don't have any valid users yet I haven't launced my site. Maybe I could sign up on your site and give you a buck if you sign up on mine and give me a buck.... LOL

No problem, I can do that, fill in your profile here and I'll check it later today & signup, you dont need to signup on mine or send a payment as its not working properly. I already have a payment mailed from paypal so i just need to sort out the problem first, so the software can read it.

I wondering if the Cron jobs/functions & paypal Mail are related, anyway I'll make a payment on your site today as soon as..... you can tell me when its credited to the account.

That would be great... Man maybe i should just ask a million people to test my paypal.. LOL

Anyone else care to help me test my paypal setup..

I don't think the cron problem would be related to that but you never know.

I don't suppose you have any idea where the admin user name and pass are stored do ya?

Ok done that wink looks like your having the same problem as myself, ah well cry

I dont think you can access passwords but you can find your user name : what did you do exactly ?

EDIT: I've just noticed your paypal payment not claimed is your account verifyed ? it wont work anyway unless your account is verifyed or untill you accept the payment, so claim the payment and see what happens :?:

I guess we will have to wait for the experts to figure out our paypal problems.

I changed my password for the admin consol and I guess I must of missed a k stroke or something. Since there is no password confirmation it took the new password and now I can't log in to my admin panel

I just changed the password, I've searched in mysql but can't find it as just regular users are there. It's got to be in one of the files on the site and if i new which one I could just replace that file with a new copy and use the default to get into the site. Oh well guess I'll have to wait, for one of the developers.

I wish these guys would get on here and check there support forum. lol Well it appears that they come online early in the mornings Mewsoft time from Monday to Fri and It's late sunday according to this board so they should be in in the next several hours or so. This is really putting a damper on my development... Oh well what can you do.

Guys,

Paypal is very easy to setup in the software but I guess you both have no experiance with Paypal and the point you just created it with paypal even paypal in Business from many years.

Now all you have to do is, create you paypal account and activate it and you have to setup where your money will go or how will you get paid from paypal, then login to your auction admin, setup your login for paypal email account, NOT your paypal account, again in the auction admin you setup your paypal email account and its usersname and password. Then you should understand that the auction software does not withdraw the money from your paypal account, it just gets the email sent from paypal to your email telling you that you just received a payment, so the software does not have to do at all with your paypal and even it does not know your paypal login, it just users the email you use on paypal to receive the payment notifications. I hope this gives you a clear idea.Thank all

Thanks for the reply, but I knew all that, and thats the problem iam having

When does the auction software try and read these replys from paypal ?

I have had a paypal account for some some time now with various address's, and just for this purpose I setup a paypal@ address on it. Its a verifyed account ( non-US ) so I dont know if thats the problem.

On my server I have set the same mail account-up paypal@ etc.. with a username & password (of course this was done first b4 the paypal account) I have entered these same details into the auction software

paypal@
username
password

So, I dont know whats wrong thats why iam asking.

If possible could I send you some money & ask that you register and make a payment, Ahmed has my site details if you could check my settings first.

Just a thought Marty.

paypal@ <---- Is your pay pal email address that you use for the account

username <------ That's your login that you use to collect email on your mail server

Password <----- Thats the password you use to log into your email account on your mail server (NOT EBAY)

Is this what you have set up?

I assume you did this:

you first, created an email for paypal on your server, say:

mypaypal@yourdomain.com

and its passowrd is "myassword".

now you created an account on paypal with that email and now someone sent you a payment and you receive notifications from paypal to this email address "mypaypal@yourdomain.com" that you received that money in your account.

now, you should in your auction admin, under the paypal setting, enter the same email address "mypaypal@yourdomain.com" and its username mypaypal and its password "mypassword".

Important:
-------------
The email address that you used for paypal, do not read it by Outlook or any email reader or online, if you read the email account messages will be deleted and the program will not be able to read these emails.

Hi Guys,

Well all that made for very interesting reading....so what was the outcome?
Is the Auction software activated by Paypal so that the members account is ballanced? ....or is it going to be the case that we have to take notice of our email notification from Paypal and ballance our members accounts manually? ...(that sounds like hard work) :?:

Paypal process is automated. You do not do anything manual. The note is the email account that you use for paypal, do NOT use it or check it by any email client, do not let your Outlook check it or the auction (and search) program will not get the payment notification email and in this case you have to credit your customer manually.
