Hello. I just purchased the auction program. I purchased hosting with OnSmart.net I originally ordered Windows hosting but after I had the auction program installed I was told that Linux is better. I switched to Linux. OnSmart switched me over and transfered over my auction program, BUT now there are major problems. I can only access the admin's homepage & the auctions homepage. When I try to go to anywhere else in both sites, I see my user name in the browser address bar included with the address. Here's one example:

I have been on LiveChat almost all day with OnSmart and they told me they have to send my problem to their admin. I don't understand what they did wrong?

Has anyone else run into this problem? And how do I get some help fixing it without waiting ALL day?

This shouldn't be in your address

I do not know how to fix this problem. And I was told my hosting company that they do not know how to fix this problem either. They are sending my problem to their admin's.

I did not install the auction program. (Beyond my ability) But, I had it installed on a windows platform. Now that I've switched to a Linux I thought that everything would be fine. They moved my auction site programing for me when they switched my hosting platforms.

Ahhhhhhhh........ I don't know why they can't fix this problem when they caused it.......... cry

I pointed out that my name was in the browser address window to them too......... Ahhhhhhhhhhhh............. frown

These settings are in your admin panel under Cofiguration.

Probably should be stated as below;

HTML Directory;
/home/jefferyk/public_html or /home/jefferyk/httdocs etc...

I am unable to do anything in my auction admin control panel. I took out the extra words in my browser address bar to at least put in a title at the top of the browser window. I tried doing this to use the rest of my admin control panel, but I can't get to anyother pages.

The only page I can get to is my front page in the admin control panel.

You did not screw up your site, it actually works. You need to put a redirect in (index.html with this code in it (<!--#exec cgi="/cgi-bin/auction/auction.pl"-->wink) and put it in public_html to point to the cgi-bin/auction.pl.

AND FIX YOUR PATHS IN CONFIG

Oh don't worry about the images yet!

OK your paths are working some of your folders had not been created for things to work. Most of your paths are working now.

Click on configuration, you will see you have access to you admin now.

Just a few things are left to do to get it fully operational.

Oh again don't worry about your images. You just need to put the images folder in public_html

Hi!

I wrote in previous posts what you needed to do. Just flip back and look for the one about the index.html and the images folder. Your site will be almost complete after those two things.
