here is the what the URL is when I get the error after submitting on the configuration page.

http://www.mediaartstraining.com/cgi-bin/sbox/auction/admin.cgi

There is no cgi-bin/sbox...

and I haven't been able to find this elusive bugger...

Thanks,
Tom

The wierd thing about that path is that it doesn't give a "file not found" but a 500 error instead, which seems to me, means the file exists at that address.

Hi,

But I do not see that file anywhere, and if it was there then shouldn't it run?

Thanks,
Tom

There are a few reasons a file may not run on the server, if this is the case. I was only suggesting by the error that the file may exist there.

The only thing I can think of still that "Configuration" keeps pointing you to the "sbox" path is that one of the two files Mewsoft mentioned in the earlier post still contains that path to "sbox".

Hi,

I've been searching inside of those two files. Especially after your recommendation of the perl editor. That has made things easier than notepad.

However, I do not see that path in those files anywhere.

But I will keep searching.

I have a bunch of admin menu items working now, except for those that need to connect to the database because I have not been able to save the database information in the admin...

Thanks,
Tom

Could very well be that your file Admin.pm permissions aren't correct.

http://www.mediaartstraining.com/cgi/auction/admin.cgi?action=Check_Program_Files_Permissions

Might try that, then Set your databse, passwords, then Create your SQL databases.

My version doesn't use that file, so it's hard for me to say. You may want to look at any files you've edited on your PC and make sure the paths are correct or the upload you're doing now may not work.

You still stuck with the old version. Come on Mewsoft this guy deserves a free upgrade. We need him to help solve all the issues with the new version... rolling

 Hi,

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

\ \ You are running into the same CGI-BIN/SBOX problem I ran into. The problem isn't the software or your installation... it's GoDaddy where you have your site hosted. They use some kind of CGI limiting called sandbox that makes scripts like these not work. I think they do it so you'll upgrade to one of their big dedicated server packages instead of using their cheap deluxe CGI virtual hosting packages. \ I went through three Auction scripts (two free and this one)until I figured out the problem and that I couldn't fix it without abandoning ship.\ Mewsoft seems to be the best package - but GoDaddy simply isn't the best choice of hosts based on their setup. Find someone that has an unrestricted CGI-BIN.
