Error during configuration Edit Delete Reply with quote Quote

I have gotten to the point where I have to do configuration. I think I fill out everything right in the configuration page, but when I hit "save changes" I get the following error message:\ \ c:/hosting/webhost4life/member/sabachi/cgi-bin/auction/data/SysConfig.pm: Permission denied\ Line 75, File c:/hosting/webhost4life/member/sabachi/cgi-bin/auction/Configuration.pm \ \ What could be the problem? Please help.\ \ Thank you.

From your message, it is a windows server, I'd recommend you to switch from the begaining to a Linux server, you need linux server to automate the auction closing and processing every hour or so instead of doing it manually, also Linux is very easy to change files permissions and manage and I assume it is cheaper, you may check our hosting partner for Linux plan.

Now back to your error message, this means the file and directory are un writables, from your site control panel, set the directory data and all its subs and files to writables.

Hi:\ \ Thank you for your reply, however I checked the file permissions for Data folder and its contents and they seem to all have write permission. Just to give more info, I have some imporatnt items in configuration page written up here. As I said before, there is no other prossiblites, it is either your files permissions or your cgi path if you are sure it is c:/hosting/webhost4life/member/sabachi/cgi-bin/auction as you posted above. Ask your hosting company about the setup for the mysql database and let them verify it is created and the user you used is added to it and have the permissions.

Thank you. It resolved the probelm. Although I downloaded the files with correct permission, they were some how changed. And, on this Windows based server, I could not verify the permission status.\ \ Thanks again.
